Longer term emission reduction costs in Swedish industry
In Phase 1, we have studied emission-reduction costs in three Swedish industrial sectors for measures that are available now or are expected to be available in the immediate future. This task extends that work, with an eye on a longer time scale. We will focus on identifying measures in three Swedish industry sectors that can significantly reduce greenhouse-gas emissions (20-30%), what the potential reduction volumes are and the associated costs. Consequently, the time horizon will be expanded to include measures expected to be available 20-30 years into the future, and a more systemic approach will be used. The research will link closely to the work on technology development and on effects on the energy system as a whole.
