Taking Stock After Copenhagen
The European Climate Platform, ECP, initiated by Clipore and CEPS, Centre for European Policy Studies, is arranging a one-day seminar on the 5th of March in Brussels, which will be attended by negotiators, policy makers, industry representatives and researchers.
Under the title “Taking stock after Copenhagen: Perceptions, achievements, implications for the short and long term agenda", the ECP aims to bring forward ideas and perceptions from the outcomes of COP 15.
 
Presentations and discussions will focus on the assessments of the results made in Copenhagen and distinguish between real and measurable progress made, and also gaps and emerging issues, with a special focus on implications for the carbon market.

Among many speakers and invitees are Bo Kjellén, Former Chief Climate Negotiator of Sweden, Frank Convery, Heritage Trust Professor of Environmental Policy at University College Dublin and representatives from the European Commission, the US and Mexican missions, the WWF, the ICC and Business Europe,
 
This event will be followed by another seminar, which will take place on 25 of May 2010. This second seminar will focus on the future research agenda. The discussion panels will be composed by researchers and negotiators. This seminar will explore the research gaps, and what research can provide to address the open issues of Copenhagen. Particular attention will be paid to the role of the private sector.
